Consultation and Open Plan Layout Extension Design - Histon, Cambridge.

A flawless execution, from our initial drawings and layout approvals, to their architects planning, and construction for renovations taking place in a timely manner, these particular clients are what we would call in the a trade a unicorn. 

This wonderful couple approached me with specific preference for the ambiance they wish to achieve in their home and requested a visit to discuss options for expanding their interior space and potentially extending their home to the rear. Given that this house has been standing for nearly a century, having a thorough discussion about their precise desires for the home proved to be invaluable. We delved into the functionality of how they currently utilize their space and envisioned how they would ideally like the flow of their home to be once the renovations are complete.

After spending an hour or so immersed in their vision for the atmosphere they wish to cultivate in their home, we delved into the key reasons driving their desire for change, such as incorporating the remarkable work undertaken in their backyard landscaping and creating a more open-plan layout that allows for togetherness regardless of one's location downstairs. I took some time to measure their space accurately, to prepare drawings of the space and the functional layout for how I envision their space being best designed to work for their needs and wants, along with notes of furniture layout, opening, measurements of building works and finishing touches, which was where we said our initial good byes to allow for time with planning and construction. 
Returning a year later to witness the completed construction and design was a true delight. The execution was nothing short of outstanding.

Previously, these areas felt confined and dimly lit, but now they exude a bright and inviting atmosphere, bathed in natural light streaming in from the new rear extension. They are artfully illuminated with strategically placed spotlights providing ambient lighting. In addition, carefully positioned lamps offer both accent and task lighting, creating a cozy ambiance for those quiet evenings. 

The space has been opened to create a open plan living space, with dual purpose, offering a wonderful entertaining space for guest and foot flow, or the option for a warm cosy night infront of the fire with a good book or thrilling documentary on the television.
